This headquarters facility exceeds the requirements of all law enforcement agencies and has a number of innovative features which distinguish it as perhaps the most modern and customer-friendly towing facility in the country. Our headquarters facility has three acres of indoor and outdoor vehicle storage area. The indoor storage area is ideal for antique or classic car storage. We can store approximately 650 vehicles in a configuration allowing for easy access to each vehicle. There are also hydraulically operated automobile racks in the indoor area allowing for the maximum efficient use of space. Air quality in the large warehouse is assured with carbon monoxide monitoring equipment and the ability to evacuate 30,000 cubic feet of air per minute should the need arise. Howard Sommers distinguishes itself from other tow companies by employing two full-time, highly experienced mechanics who perform vehicle maintenance at its secondary facility. In-house maintenance minimizes delays while vehicles are being serviced and ensures safe vehicles. Regular vehicle maintenance covers all portions of the vehicle, including brakes, engine, fluids, transmission, rear end and towing apparatus. Truck drivers are asked to complete a written assessment of any problems or concerns with their vehicles on a daily basis.

The success of Howard Sommers in-house maintenance program was recently demonstrated when it was awarded the prestigious ABIT (Biennial Inspection of Terminals) Award from the California Highway Patrol, which only gives the award to truck operating facilities, which pass its rigorous safety and truck maintenance inspections for four consecutive years.
